ABOUT ME

My name is Amed Fernández Álvarez, I am a Visual Artist and I currently live in Havana, Cuba. I have always been an artist in constant change, immersed in some process of learning and expansion. My usual techniques are oil painting, acrylic, and digital media. For some years now I have also been incorporating the languages of graphic design and illustration, in order to expand my expressive and discursive resources. I am interested in humanist themes, treating political and religious subjects with caution. An admirer of sarcasm, intelligent humor, visual metaphor, and the absurd, I like to move between the aggressive and the sensitive. With uninterrupted output, I have shown my work in numerous group and solo exhibitions, as well as major events in the country where I live, such as the 11th Havana Biennial and Noviembre Fotográfico. My work is part of private collections in Canada, Australia, and the United States.
